Small gifts, decisive outcomes
The Foundation for Benedictine Education supports practical projects that help Benedictine education flourish around the world.
Our grants fund the things that make education possible: a safe place to sleep, clean water, laboratory equipment, computers, books, bursaries, chapels, retreats, and exchanges.
We work through Benedictine schools, monasteries and communities we know. Where a project comes through the wider Benedictine network, we rely on trusted relationships.
We connect generosity with need across the Benedictine educational family.

What your giving makes possible

Access to education
Boarding, transport, clean water and the everyday barriers that determine whether children can attend school at all.

Teaching and learning
The equipment and resources schools need to teach properly: laboratories, computers, books, libraries and classroom materials.

Formation of the whole person
Pastoral care, retreats, chaplaincy, mentorship, leadership formation and Benedictine values in daily school life.

Scholarships and individual opportunity
Support for students whose circumstances would otherwise limit or close their path.

Schools and communities in crisis
Support for Benedictine schools, monasteries and students responding to war, displacement or local hardship.

The Benedictine education network
Projects that strengthen relationships between schools and educators across countries.
A community foundation for Benedictine education
Some donors want their gift to go wherever the need is greatest. Others feel called to support a particular kind of work: girls’ education, scholarships, nursing and healthcare training, a specific country, or the Douai legacy. The Foundation is here to support both kinds of generosity.
How we choose what to fund
We fund through Benedictine communities and schools we know, or through projects that reach us through the Benedictine network.
That network matters. A school with a monastic community behind it is rooted in a place, accountable to a tradition, and likely to still be serving its community for generations to come.
Your gift is entrusted to people and institutions whose work we know, whose values we share, and whose needs are often immediate and solvable.
